Arely Ortiz is completing her bachelor's degree in environmental systems science at the University of California, Merced as a first generation college student from a Latina family. She has devoted her free time to community service and hopes to inspire others in her community to be just as active when it comes to environmental protection. Ortiz will be blogging about how the Advanced Clean Fleets rule would combat climate change and improve public health in California.
