Using text comparison software, an expert report concludes that the European review of glyphosate cancer risks is based substantially on text and conclusions coming verbatim from Monsanto. The report concludes that, "All in all, the writers of the report must be accused of significant scientific misconduct and of fulfilling all the definitional criteria of text plagiarism in the sense of conscious deception about the true authorship....This is relevant because EU regulation requires that an independent, objective and transparent assessment be conducted."
