Kill the K-Cup!
This horror film may be over-the-top, but so is our tiny plastic-cup coffee addiction.
We know our wasteful ways come back to haunt us in the form of greenhouse gas emissions and overloaded landfills. But our trashy habits have yet to attack us with missiles, spaceships, and Stay-Puffed-size robots made out of K-Cups. That’s right, K-Cups, those single-serve coffee containers for the consumer on the go.
For the folks in this video, created by Egg Studios and Social Bean Gourmet Coffee Co., the cups are a nightmare. But they are scary in real life, too. The amount of K-Cups we use in one year could circle the earth 10.5 times. (Plus, the plastic containers might be leaching endocrine disruptors into your morning Joe.) So slow down and brew up a pot. Table for one? Get a French press! Either way, let’s #killthekcup; they already have us outnumbered…
